A Lake in the Sonoran Desert
Positioned outside of metropolitan Phoenix, Lake Pleasant is a man-made lake that was created by the damming of a canal. It is roughly 9,500 acres of water with plenty of room to fish by boat or from along the shoreline for bass, sunfish and catfish. During the summer months, the temperature can easily reach above 100 degrees, which can force activities on the lake to take place at night when it is cooler. Over 20,000 visitors annually visit Lake Pleasant.
